Students after passing 12^th standard from different streams have plenty of options to choose from for higher studies. But the options need to be carefully considered before picking one. Though the choice of course at the undergraduate level may depend upon various aspects like – education stream in Class 11 and 12, marks scored in Class 12, the interest of candidate and career goal. We are here, therefore, referring to some of the courses you can pursue after passing 12^th with Science, Humanities and Commerce streams.

Courses after Class 12th for Science(Mathematics) students

Undergraduates passed 12th standard with Mathematics as one of the subjects, popularly pursue Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Bachelor of Engineering(BE), Bachelor of Computer Applications(BCA), Bachelor in Science in a subject of choice. BTech can be pursued in a variety of areas including Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural engineering, Biochemical engineering, Mining engineering, Metallurgical Engineering etc.

Students can also make a career in the aviation industry as a Commercial Pilot. If interested, individuals can also take admission in the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune by clearing the NDA entrance exam and got a chance to serve in National Defence.

Courses after Class 12th for Commerce students

For those who have studied Commerce (with Mathematics/without Mathematics), the most common courses at UG level are Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Economics (Honours), Bachelor of Business Administration, Integrated MBA, Bachelor of Computer Application. Also some Prestigious professional Courses are open to pursuing a 12^th a passed commerce student, such as Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretary, Cost Management Accountancy and Chartered Financial Analyst. Furthermore, Bachelor of Statistics is nowadays getting popular among individuals with good logical and reasoning skills and capabilities.

Courses after Class 12th for Arts students

Learners with Arts background have a varied range of fields to choose from. The most popular options at UG level include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts (Honours), LLB. An Arts student can also, depending upon his personal preferences, go for Sociology, Psychology, Creative Writing, Social Work, Fashion, Photography.

Other courses, an Arts student can opt for are courses in Linguistics, Religious Studies, Foreign Languages, Fashion Designing, Theatre Studies, Film Making, Art History and related fields.

To pursue most of the courses discussed above, generally, a candidate has to appear in common entrance tests, conducted either by government bodies or private institutes.

            Apart from the above mentioned fields to choose, students can go for a varied range of other courses that do not specifically require 12^th to be passed from a particular subjects like Science students are also eligible to pursue courses beyond the science stream, such as those open to students of Arts and Commerce – including Graduation  in Law, Management, Mass Communication, Animation, Graphic Designing, Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Fashion Designing, Advertising, Event Management etc. Courses in Linguistics, Religious Studies, Foreign Languages, Fashion Designing, Theatre Studies, Film Making, Art History and related fields are also inclining their peak these days.

To shape one’s career in the management domain, students can opt for BBA, BMS, BBM or Integrated MBA right after Class 12th. Not to be mentioned, Masters in Business Administration can be taken up at the postgraduate level by any graduate with a minimum percentage of 50 in graduation.
